Savi's Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers is tucked behind a scrap-metal storefront in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, presented as a secret gathering of collectors who have kept the old traditions alive. You are there to build a lightsaber yourself, not to watch someone else do it.

The session runs roughly twenty minutes and ends with your completed saber ignited for the first time, which is the moment everyone remembers.

How the experience works

You choose one of four themes — Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, or Protection and Defense — and then select the hilt parts that go with it. Kyber crystal color is picked separately.

One builder per reservation, though a small number of guests can accompany you into the room to watch.

Why Savi's Workshop sells out

Each session takes only a few builders at a time, so daily capacity is genuinely small compared with a restaurant. Combined with how well known the experience has become, slots disappear almost immediately once they are released.

Taking a lightsaber home

The saber you build is full length and comes home with you, which is a practical consideration people rarely think about until they are holding one. It disassembles into a carry case, and Disney will help you get it packed.

Worth planning for if you are flying, particularly with hand luggage. It does not change how hard the booking is, but it is the detail that most often surprises people afterwards.
