What is the Fantasmic dining package at Disney World?
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Fantasmic! plays in an open-air amphitheater on Sunset Boulevard, curved around a lagoon. Mickey’s dream turns into a battle with the villains, led by Maleficent as a towering dragon, told with water, light, fireworks and stunts.
The dining package adds a meal before the show and a voucher for a reserved section of the amphitheater.
Without one, seating is first come, first served. The package guarantees you a place in the reserved section instead.

What the package includes
At 50’s Prime Time Café, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater and The Hollywood Brown Derby you get an entrée and a dessert. At Hollywood & Vine you get the buffet, at breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Each meal includes a nonalcoholic drink, or an alcoholic one for guests 21 and older.
You also receive one voucher per person for guaranteed seating in the reserved section. Prices on Disney’s page exclude tax, gratuity and park admission.
Children 9 and under pay a lower price at every restaurant, and anyone 10 or older pays the adult price.
Disney charges a per-person fee if you miss the meal or cancel outside its policy, so hold the booking only if you plan to use it.
How the reserved seating works
Collect your seating voucher at the restaurant, during the meal.
The reserved entrance is on Sunset Boulevard, beside Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage. Seating opens 90 minutes before showtime, and Disney asks package guests to arrive at least 25 minutes before the show to be seated in the reserved section.
Seats inside the section are not assigned. You choose your own on arrival, first come, first served, so arriving earlier gives you more to choose from.
The first couple of rows can get wet. If the show is canceled, your meal goes ahead as booked.
Timing your meal before Fantasmic
Book a meal that ends with enough time to reach Sunset Boulevard and be in the section at least 25 minutes before the show starts.
Finishing an hour or so before showtime leaves a comfortable margin and a wider choice of seats.
The amphitheater is open to the sky, so a poncho is worth packing on an unsettled evening. Disney cancels the show in bad weather but still serves the meal.
Which restaurant should you choose?
For young children
Hollywood & Vine. The buffet suits picky eaters, and it is the only character meal of the four.
If Disney World character dining reservations are on your list anyway, this one comes with the show.
For theming
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater or 50’s Prime Time Café. Eating at a drive-in movie or around a 1950s family table is half the fun of both.
For a special occasion

When Fantasmic dining packages open at Disney World
Like other Disney World dining, packages open 60 days ahead at around 6:00 AM Eastern. Guests at a Disney Resort hotel can book dining for their whole stay, up to 10 days, 60 days before check-in.

Only four restaurants offer the package, and each show’s reserved section holds a limited number of guests.

Be flexible on the restaurant
The reserved section is the same at all four, so being flexible on where you eat gives you more ways to get a package.
Book for the whole party
Disney recommends a reservation that covers every guest at the table, whatever their age. Each package includes one seating voucher.
Hold a backup show night
If your trip includes more than one Hollywood Studios day, check both. That gives you another date to work with.
Know the standby fallback
If no package comes through, standby is still an option. Disney lets guests arrive up to 90 minutes before each show and advises arriving early to get a seat.
Keep watching after the 60-day mark
Packages that guests cancel return to sale, so a date that sold out when it opened can still come through later.
