Lamplight Lounge reservation alerts
Lamplight Lounge sits at the entrance to Pixar Pier, looking out over Paradise Bay. It is a relaxed gastropub rather than a formal room, but the lobster nachos and the waterfront tables have made it one of the busiest reservations in Disney California Adventure.

What makes Lamplight Lounge special
Lamplight Lounge occupies the building that was once the Cove Bar, at the point where Paradise Gardens meets Pixar Pier. The lower deck sits almost on the water.
The walls are hung with Pixar concept art and production sketches, much of it genuine development work, which makes the room worth a slow look even once the food arrives.
The kitchen is gastropub rather than fine dining — the lobster nachos are the signature, alongside burgers, a raw bar and a long cocktail list. The upstairs Boardwalk Dining area shares the same kitchen and menu but has a different feel, looking out over Pixar Pier rather than down onto the water.
Why Lamplight Lounge is so hard to book
It is a small footprint carrying park-wide demand. The waterfront tables in particular are a narrow strip, and everybody wants one at sunset.
Because it serves all day, the pressure is not confined to dinner. Breakfast and mid-afternoon fill in a way most table-service restaurants do not, so there is no quiet window to fall back on.
Good to know before you book
Lamplight Lounge serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Boardwalk Dining upstairs is the same kitchen with a different seating area, and reservations do not let you choose between them — seating is assigned on arrival.
How to catch a cancellation
Openings appear throughout the day here rather than only in the final 48 hours, because the all-day service means more bookings to change.
That works in your favor if something is watching continuously. Set an alert above and we will email and text you the moment a table matching your dates and party size opens.
Across the park, Carthay Circle Restaurant is the other California Adventure table that rarely sits empty.
Lamplight Lounge reservation FAQs
Why is Lamplight Lounge so hard to book?
It carries park-wide demand in a comparatively small building, and it serves all day, so there is no off-peak window where tables sit unbooked. The waterfront seating people want most is only a fraction of the restaurant.
When do Lamplight Lounge reservations open?
Disneyland Resort dining opens 60 days in advance. Lamplight fills quickly across every meal, so cancellations are how most guests get a table on a busy date.
Can I request a table by the water?
You can ask at check-in, but seating is assigned on arrival and the waterfront tables are limited. Arriving slightly outside peak times gives you a better chance than requesting it does.
Can Park Drop alert me when a Lamplight Lounge table opens?
Yes. Choose your dates, party size and time window above, and Park Drop will send an email and a text the moment a matching table appears, with a direct booking link.
Is breakfast easier to book than dinner?
Generally yes. Breakfast and early lunch open up more often than a sunset dinner, so widening your alert to include the morning noticeably improves your chances.
Can I walk up without a reservation?
A limited number of walk-ups are taken, and the upstairs Boardwalk Dining area sometimes has space when the main room does not. Waits at peak times are long, so a reservation is still much the safer plan.
