What makes Carthay Circle Restaurant special

The building recreates the Carthay Circle Theatre, the Los Angeles cinema where Walt Disney premiered Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. It anchors the end of Buena Vista Street and is the tallest thing on that skyline.

Upstairs is the restaurant proper — a quiet, white-tablecloth room that feels a long way from the queues outside. The fried biscuits stuffed with white cheddar and bacon, served with apricot honey butter, are the dish people come back for.

Downstairs, the Carthay Circle Lounge takes a limited number of walk-ups, which is worth knowing if the dining room upstairs is full.

Why Carthay Circle Restaurant is so hard to book

Signature dining means fewer seatings and longer tables than a quick-service restaurant, so the room turns over slowly and there is simply less inventory to go around each day.

World of Color dining packages take a further share of it. When the show is running, a large part of the evening is committed to package bookings before general reservations are counted.

Carthay Circle serves lunch and dinner. Dining packages that include World of Color viewing are booked as a separate product and sell out first, so if the show is your priority, look for the package rather than a standard table.
